Andrew & Erin left their desk jobs behind to run the Kitzhof inn, their cozy alpine-style inn in Southern Vermont. They pour their energy into warm hospitality, hearty breakfasts, and creating a welcoming home base for skiers, hikers, bikers, and anyone looking for a little Vermont magic!
The Kitzhof is proudly family-owned and operated—no corporate playbook, no cookie-cutter experience.
When you stay here, you’re staying with real people. Andrew and Erin are the ones who will greet you at reception, answer your questions, make your pancakes in the morning, and make sure your stay feels personal, comfortable, and genuinely Vermont.
It’s hospitality the way it used to be—warm, hands-on, and from the heart.
What began as a single-family home in 1958 has since turned into a well-loved Vermont destination for many. The Kitzhof Inn roughly means "The goat house or the Kid's house." The original owner named the building for his grandchildren.
The Kitzhof underwent a major renovation in 1976. Rooms 1, 2, 3, 14 to 17 were added and the owner's quarters was turned into rooms 6 and 7. The 3rd owners then added a 3rd floor and expanded the lounge into what is now considered the game room.

If you've been to the Kitzhof, you may have had the pleasure of meeting Remy, our sweet 5-year-old lab mix. We adopted Remy from a shelter 4 years ago and she's been living her best life in Vermont ever since.
Remy had a rough 1st year of her life. Animal control took her out of a not-so-great situation and she ended up in 4 different shelters from North Carolina to New York before we brought her home to Vermont. She's a very shy and timid dog, but she'll warm up a bit if you give her treats!
We feel strongly in helping support our local shelter here in Southern Vermont. Below are a few ways you can help!
